Stopped in after doing the cavern.. Amazing food, love the views! Our server Sugar was awesome, she gave us lots of great ideas of things to do in the area.
So I ate breakfast at the Cook House this morning and bumped up my initial three stars to four stars because I couldn't get it to go 1/2 so I actually will go 4 1\2 stars. I made a purchase in the store where there is a vast open space that in the past was filled with perfect comfortable lake attire. The staff was helpful, pleasant and it was clean. The dressing rooms could use a stool, chair and some hooks to hang items inside though.
Beautiful view of Shasta Lake and the Pit River Bridge while you dine. Outdoor seating, perfect place to watch the sunset while sipping a beverage.
This place always had a great view. Now that's all they have. Now it's under new ownership.
This is a great place to kick back on the deck with a beverage and a potato skin and watch the boats go by. It's not fine dining, it's Sunday afternoon and I don't want summer to end dining!
Terrible experience. Server was rude. We wanted to sit on the patio, and when we told the waitress, she said its gonna be hot, scoffed and stomped off. She obviously didn't want to deal with having to serve a large group on the patio. We wanted to sit outside because we have an 18 month old, and didn't want to disturb the other clients. They also offer no wifi to their clients, yet they have three visible networks. I asked to speak to a manager, and the waitress said, no the best you are going to get is the sou chef. I then asked to speak to the general manager of the resort. He came up to the restaurant and demanded a group of 7 people to leave in the middle of their meal. Yet this was not the most appalling part of the experience. The general manager I spoke withs name was Shane Spinner. His breath reeked of alcohol at 10:00 a.m. Wonder how I knew his name? He arrogantly introduced himself as Shane Spinner General Manager. I will say that the view was beautiful, but I would never advise anyone to go here. These employees were the most unprofessional staff I have ever experienced, aside from the GM appearing to be under the influence.
We love coming here for the buffalo wings potato skins.
