I have got to be honest, from what I have heard he does great machine work here. The only problem(s) is that he takes 3 months or more to do a simple job and is dishonest. And everyone I have spoken to said it took at least 3 months to get simple work done. In the middle of this long wait process, he also tried to raise his quoted price(because he decided he had quoted to low after hearing I called other places to see if they could get it done any faster) even though he had never started the work. He does work without authorization and then tries to charge you for it. He tried to keep all of the parts that I had bought and brought in to him because he did work that I did not authorize and said if I did not pay for it then I could not have any of my parts back. I had to file a complaint with the bureau of automotive repair and the BBB just to get most of my parts back. I am being forced to file suit against him to get my other cylinder heads back because he replaced the guides in them without any sort of authorization and now won't relinquish them because I refuse to pay for unauthorized work(Changing the guides took almost 2 months for him to do and he wanted$150 bucks for it). Originally porting my heads was supposed to be a few week job and after 2 months of him not doing any of the work that I had hired him to do, I complained that I din't want to hear more about his other project that he kept using as an excuse to not have started my job, he told me to come pick my stuff up but only if I paid him $150 for work that he did that I did not want or authorize. So if you are not in any sort of hurry and can wait months to get work done, and have an open pocket book and are willing to let a machinist do whatever he wants without telling you and are willing to pay for it, Then Blake's Automotive Performance is the place to go. I personally have decided to call this shop FAKE BLAKE'S as that is what I see him to be, a fake that talks a lot about what he can do then does nothing. Oh no, he does stuff, but not what you hired him to do.
